In cases where your religion gives you a reason to do or to not do something you would say “due to religious reasons”
So if your doing something, say refusing to stand for the pledge, what is atheism?
Do you say “due to my theological stance”
or “due to my philosophical stance”
What would be the proper wording here?
I still usually say for religious reasons and if people push it I’ll say I’m an atheist.
The wording that was decided upon was “Due to my theological and moral stance I decline to rise and recite the Pledge of Allegiance.”
It was then signed by student, parent, and principal.
(though just to be clear, your parents do NOT need to be on board for you to object to the pledge of allegiance)
