The bible is subservient to science.

This guy appears to have confused “porn” with the bible.

While surveying tornado damage in Alabama, Trump found time to sign bibles.

Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he knows nothing about the bible, nor does he care, other than to say that it’s his “second-favourite book” (which, in his defence, is a solid joke).

Imagine being a Christian with Christian values, who wants people to respect the bible, and believing that this guy is your man.

There are fewer than ten references to homosexuality in the bible (although Jesus himself has nothing to say about it).

However, there are hundreds of references to the pernicious influence of money and how being rich is a bad idea (including many by Jesus).

Those using scripture to justify their homophobia never seem to have much to say about the money they make promoting their hate.

Only someone who hasn’t read that book all the way through could believe something so obviously wrong.

Christians sometimes use Josephus as “evidence” that Jesus existed. If the gospels are right, Jesus was crucified around AD 30. Josephus didn’t start writing until around AD 50. It’s very possible that his sources are the same as everyone else’s.

Moreover, perhaps the biggest issue is that if Josephus knew about “Jesus, who was called the Messiah”, as he says in the ninth chapter of Book 20 of the Antiquities, why didn’t he convert? That is to say, if Christians are using the evidence of Josephus to demonstrate their claims, it’s odd that this evidence didn’t seem to convince Josephus, who remained Jewish throughout his life.
