Christians sometimes use Josephus as “evidence” that Jesus existed. If the gospels are right, Jesus was crucified around AD 30. Josephus didn’t start writing until around AD 50. It’s very possible that his sources are the same as everyone else’s.

Moreover, perhaps the biggest issue is that if Josephus knew about “Jesus, who was called the Messiah”, as he says in the ninth chapter of Book 20 of the Antiquities, why didn’t he convert? That is to say, if Christians are using the evidence of Josephus to demonstrate their claims, it’s odd that this evidence didn’t seem to convince Josephus, who remained Jewish throughout his life.

it’s not that the bible needs to be taken so literally it’s a moral thing. stories written before science. ppl walkin in the dirt to new lands bored before tv and it’s a spiritual thing you atheist never understand. you just refuse to see what the faithful cant not. i need Catholicism cuz im an occultist(reverse Catholic) it’s good to have faith im saying we need to study it. as satanist youre supposed to learn and study not deny like atheist.

Personally speaking, I have never dismissed the bible for being too fantastic.

I have never dismissed it for talking animals or other supernatural scriptures(even if I dont believe them, that was never what made me dismiss it).

I dismiss the bible For its constant contradictions. For its cruelty and illogical “morality”. For its lack of evidence. And lastly, for the fact that its been translated and rewritten so many times and in so many different ways that it simply doesnt make sense to choose one and follow it.

If you believe that is wonderful for you, but please dont tell me why I dont.

So you don't believe in a creator? Read Revelation 4:11. You can look around and see that God made everything….even you.

Part of being atheist is disregarding the bible and viewing it as fiction. SOooooooo….
